Be Yourself. Get A Job. That Simple.
By Bobby Romadka
If you’ve got an interview in an hour and you’re not prepared—don’t panic. You can still show up confident and polished with a few quick steps.
1️⃣ Practice Your “About Me”
You will almost always get some version of:
“Tell me about yourself.”
Spend a few minutes practicing a simple 30–60 second intro that explains:
Who you are
What you do well
Why you’re excited about this role
If that’s tight, you already look 50% more prepared.
2️⃣ Research 3 Things About the Company
You don’t need to memorize their entire website—just quickly learn:
What the company does
Who they serve
Something recent or interesting happening with them
This helps you connect your answers to their world—not just yours.
3️⃣ Identify 2 Goals of Yours—and How This Company Helps
Interviewers want to know not just why you want the job, but why here.
Ask yourself:
What do I want out of my next role?
How could this company help me grow?
Talk about how working there supports your long-term success. That shows maturity and intention.
4️⃣ Show Up 10–15 Minutes Early
Not 30 minutes early—not 1 minute late.
Arriving 10–15 minutes early says:
“I’m prepared.”
“I respect your time.”
“I’m serious.”
First impressions matter before you say a word.
5️⃣ Say Thank You
At the end, do two things:
Thank the interviewer genuinely
Send a short thank-you message afterward
It takes 2 minutes and places you ahead of most applicants who skip it entirely.
You Don’t Need Weeks to Prepare
Even with only an hour, you can walk in:
Confident
Focused
Professional
Do these five steps and you’ll sound more ready than most people who spent days preparing.
Good luck—you’ve got this.
